Sherrie Carnicle’s passion for fitness began at a very early age. Her mother was a religious exerciser and her father paid Sherrie and her brother an allowance for doing push ups and sit ups daily. As a child and teenager, Sherrie was active in a variety of sports including volleyball, soccer, track, cheer leading and gymnastics. At age 14, Sherrie picked up her very first weight and instantly fell in love with the improved strength, sports performance and self confidence that she received
from weight training.
Sherrie’s devotion to fitness continued in college. She knew she wanted a career in the fitness industry and earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise science. After graduating, she became a personal trainer to “help inspire others to approach life with a healthy outlook,” Sherrie said.
Sherrie loves training for figure competitions and most recently competed in the NPC Jr. Nationals in June. “I felt a great sense of accomplishment placing ninth in my class at my national debut and being among the many great athletes who had also qualified to be in that show,” she said. Sherrie prepares for her competitions with an intense weekly training regimen of six days of weight training and twice daily cardio sessions.
