I was born in Sydney Australia and raised by Spanish parents. My parents immigrated to Australia in 1961 and had three children.
I have two older brothers Juan and Andres. I am so lucky to have them in my life and I could never thank them enough for everything they have taught me over the years. My brothers are my inspiration and I wouldn't be the person I am today without them.
To summarise my career I began my first dance lesson at the age of three. I remember performing at lots of esteddfords, functions, television shows and concerts. I enjoyed Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Character and Flamenco, though I was very passionate about Flamenco.
This led me to establish my very own Flamenco Dance School (Spanish Rose Dance Studio) at the age of 16 . I taught children from as young as 2 through to adults. I also began teaching Aerobics at various Health Clubs and schools as I had become a certified Fitness Trainer and Aerobics Instructor.
Shortly after, I was introduced to competitive aerobics and competed at State and National level. I won the NSW state title and was runner up in the Nationals.
In 1995 I was a member of the Aerobics Ozstyle Team and worked as a Fitness Presenter for Channel 10 Australia.
It was in 1999 when I joined the airlines as a Flight Attendant, that I stopped teaching and began jet setting around the world! I loved it and still do, however these days I work part time as a Long Haul Flight Attendant as I am busy with my Personal Training business as well as presenting on television.
I had always gone to the gym and been fit and healthy, however it wasn't until April 2003 after the birth of my two boys, that I began training seriously with weights. I was so impressed with the changes weight training had made to my physique and in October 2003 I competed for the first time. I won the WNSO-ANB Australian Figure Title. I couldn't believe it. My first competition - A National Title! All the hard work and training had paid off and I was now hooked.
My next competition was the NPFC/IFBB NSW Championships followed by the Nationals. I won the NSW Championships and was runner up at the Australian Championships by only two points. In 2004 I competed in the Australasian Championships and placed 2nd. Finally in 2005 I won the NSW & Australian Body Shape titles which qualified me for the World Championships. In September 2006 I flew to Barcelona SPAIN for the World Championships where I placed 4th, making me the highest ever placed Australian female in the sports history. I was thrilled with my result and returned to Sydney to battle it out once more for the Australian Figure Title. You guessed it, I won! I defended my title becoming a 3 x Australian National Figure Champion as well as Mixed Pairs Champion with Sam Iliopoulos. It was in November of 2006 that Paul Graham (president IFBB Australia) and wife Carol Graham, awarded me with the IFBB Pro Card.
Since competitng I have appeared in numerous magazines including Iron Man, Inside Sport, Oxygen, Muscle & Fitness, Muscle Mag and Max Muscle to name a few. I have also been featured on three covers, the latest being the December issue of Australian Iron Man. Keep an eye out for another two front covers in 2008!!! (My lips are sealed for now...) I recently travelled to New York for a photo shoot with USA's Muscle & Fitness Hers Magazine and was also featured in Australia's very own VIVA magazine. All of this work and much more can be viewed in the Publicity section of my website. Segments from Channel 9 & 10, short films, radio interviews and much more can be viewed by selecting TV & Film. You will see that I have worked not only in Australia but also internationally. It's a nice feeling to know that my hard work and dedication has been recognised world wide. 2008 looks to be a busy year indeed with three more front covers hitting the stands in April/May. I can't say too much at this stage but I can tell you they are for three of Australia's leading fitness magazines. I have had the pleasure to work with some of the countries best photographers and I am looking forward to more opportunities throughout the year.
It brings me great joy to announce my sponsorships for 2008. Australian Sports Nutrition and Majestic Health Massage have jumped on board and are backing me 100%, as I continue to represent Australia Nationally and World Wide. I thank them so much for all their support and I am excited to endorse their products and services.
A big thank you also to my loving husband Sam, my two little boys Dylan & Jaime, mum, dad, Andres & Juan, and to all my friends and fans from around the world. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for constantly showing your support towards my career and for helping me since day one.
