How I started in the fitness industry: I have always been into fitness since high school. I ran track and played volleyball. After high school, I decided to join a gym. I started with aerobic classes first, years later I decided to hire a trainer. This changed my life! I learned so much about the body from nutrition to lifting weights that it impressed me! I loved learning about the body that I decided to go to nursing school.
I have always been into science and math, that nursing seemed right up my alley. I was three years into nursing school when I decided to transition from registered nursing to get certified to become a personal trainer. That is where I am now! I have finally found my niche! It took me a few years to figure it out, but that is what life is all about! I found my passion- helping others become healthy! I love changing lives for the best! I know that I will always be in the fitness industry!
The most rewarding part of being a personal trainer: watching my clients change and grow. They go from being in a rut, unhappy, and lost to what they should do. After weeks of training, motivation, and education on a healthy lifestyle…I watch them grow and change. What they learn in the gym, they take into their lives. I love getting thank you letters for being a great motivator!
How I got started in the modeling industry: I have modeled off and on for about thirteen years. I did odd jobs like trade shows, print work, runway, and pageants. Then about three years ago, I shot with Johnny Crosslin (Yes, my favorite photographer in the world!), and then my life changed forever! He introduced me to Gaspari Nutrition and then BOOM…the work kept coming! Just like that! I also shot with a new photographer, Walt Ostarly who landed me my very first cover. This in turn gives me a goal to stay in shape too! I have to have goals to stay in shape too!
The most rewarding part of modeling: I love meeting new people and going to new places. It breaks up the monotony of everyday life! I love wearing the cool outfits, the make up and the hair. Every shoot is like a different adventure!
My favorite way to stay active: Lifting weights! This is going to sound like I’m a workout junkie but…I’m addicted to the burn. I love the feeling I get from lifting heavy. I’m always so excited to lift weights that I can hardly stand doing my warm up set! Need..to..lift..heavy…! (In correct form, of course!)
